Granite

Granite is a coarse-grained igneous rock composed mostly of quartz, alkali feldspar, and plagioclase. It is nearly always massive, hard, and tough. These properties have made granite a widespread construction stone throughout human history.

Granite is hard and tough stone with high durability. It's Scratch Resistance. Granite scores a seven on Moh’s scale of hardness. This means that very few minerals are able to scratch it. You can cut on it, but it isn’t recommended since this will dull your knives. A sealer on the stone, applied by a professional for best results, can extend the life of the counter and help it resist stains as well.
